Terms of Service

“Booking” means a requested time slot. “Hold” means a temporary reservation pending confirmation. “User Content” means materials you bring or create on-site. “On‑site Team” means staff present during your session. “Damage” includes loss, breakage, or misuse beyond normal wear.
1. Acceptance
When these Terms apply and how updates work.

By accessing, booking, or using Shutterlake services, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not proceed with a or use the studio.

We may update these Terms to reflect operational, legal, or safety changes. If changes are material, we’ll provide a reasonable notice on our site or at the time of booking.

Your responsibility: ensure everyone in your party is aware of and follows these Terms during your session.

2. Bookings, Holds & Cancellations
How reservations are confirmed, rescheduled, or forfeited.

A does not guarantee availability until confirmed by email and/or payment, depending on the booking type. We may release holds that are not confirmed within the stated time window.

  • Arrival: sessions start and end at the scheduled time; late arrival does not extend your end time.
  • Changes: rescheduling requests are handled case-by-case and subject to availability.
  • Cancellations: cancellations within 48 hours may incur fees, including retained deposits, because the time slot may not be rebooked.

3. Safety, Conduct & House Rules
Behavior expectations, occupancy limits, and emergency readiness.

Follow posted guidance, keep exits clear, and comply with instructions from the . Unsafe behavior may result in session termination without refund.

  • Respect load limits for rigs, stands, and mounted systems.
  • No tampering with electrical panels, alarms, or safety devices.
  • Keep floors clear of hazards; secure cables; use sandbags where appropriate.
  • Use liquids, fog, confetti, flames, or pyrotechnics only with prior approval (if allowed at all).

You are responsible for your guests, vendors, and contractors while on the premises.

4. Equipment & Studio Property
Proper use, reporting issues, and damage handling.

Equipment must be used as intended and in accordance with safety instructions. Report faults immediately; do not continue using faulty gear.

Damage & fees: If occurs during your session, you may be charged for repair, replacement, cleaning, or downtime—based on the nature of the incident and applicable documentation.

  • Do not move fixed installations without approval.
  • Do not use adhesives, paints, or fasteners on walls/floors unless permitted.
  • Keep props and rentals supervised; label personal items.
5. User Content & Permissions
Ownership, releases, and what you’re allowed to create.

You retain rights to your . However, you represent that you have the necessary permissions, licenses, and releases (including model/property releases where applicable) for creation and use of that content.

You may not use the studio for unlawful, infringing, harmful, or deceptive purposes. If you are filming music videos, commercials, or events with special risks, you must disclose details before your booking.

6. Payments, Deposits & Chargebacks
Billing accuracy, authorizations, and dispute process.

By providing payment details, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees for your booking and any approved add-ons. You are responsible for accurate billing information.

  • Deposits may be required to confirm certain bookings.
  • Additional fees may apply for overtime, cleaning, or special requests.
  • If a payment dispute occurs, contact us first so we can attempt to resolve it quickly.

Chargebacks that are found to be improper may lead to collection efforts and restrictions on future bookings.

7. Limitations of Liability
Scope of responsibility and legal limits.

To the extent permitted by law, Shutterlake is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim related to your booking or use of the studio will not exceed the amounts paid for the specific booking giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.
